What is the Vishu Bumper?

The Vishu Bumper is the Kerala State Lottery’s bumper named after Vishu, with a ₹12 crore first prize. Vishu is the Malayalam new year festival. The Vishu Bumper draw follows it, in the second half of May.

Vishu Bumper tickets start with the letter V. Each edition uses 6 series: VA, VB, VC, VD, VE and VG. The draw code starts with BR, such as BR-109 for the 2026 edition. The Vishu Bumper is the third of the 6 Kerala bumpers in the year.

When is the Vishu Bumper drawn?

The Vishu Bumper is drawn at 2 PM in the last ten days of May. It comes eight weeks after the Summer Bumper. The draw takes place at Gorky Bhavan, near Bakery Junction, Thiruvananthapuram. The last three official sheets give these dates.

  • BR-97: Wednesday 29 May 2024.
  • BR-103: Wednesday 28 May 2025.
  • BR-109: Saturday 23 May 2026.

The 2027 date comes with the 2027 government notification. The 2026 notification was published on 23 March 2026, two months before the draw. This page shows a next-draw box at the top once the date is in our calendar.

When does the Vishu Bumper result sheet come out?

The Vishu Bumper result sheet comes out between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM. The BR-109 sheet was generated at 4:29 PM. The BR-103 sheet came at 5:22 PM. The winning numbers are read out from 2 PM on the official YouTube channel.

What did the Vishu Bumper 2026 notification fix?

The Vishu Bumper 2026 notification fixed a ₹300 ticket, 54 lakh tickets and ₹44.96 crore in prize money. The Government of Kerala issued it as G.O.(P) No.49/2026/TAXES on 23 March 2026. It appeared in the Kerala Gazette the same day.

  • Ticket price: ₹300, a face value of ₹214.287 plus 40% Goods and Services Tax.
  • Tickets printed: 54,00,000 (fifty four lakh).
  • Gross value: ₹115,71,49,800.
  • Prize money: ₹44,95,64,000 across 3,80,184 prizes.
  • Series: 6, VA to VG.

Onmanorama and Mathrubhumi reported the same ₹300 price and 6 series. The notification names the Kerala State Lottery Agents’ and Sellers’ Welfare Fund Board as distributor.

What is the Vishu Bumper prize structure?

The Vishu Bumper has 9 prize tiers plus a consolation prize. The 2nd to 4th prizes have one winner per series. The BR-109 notification lists the prizes below.

  • 1st prize: ₹12 crore, 1 ticket across all series.
  • 2nd prize: ₹1 crore, 6 tickets, one in each series.
  • 3rd prize: ₹10 lakh, 6 tickets, one in each series.
  • 4th prize: ₹5 lakh, 6 tickets, one in each series.
  • 5th prize: ₹5,000, last four digits drawn 30 times.
  • 6th prize: ₹2,000, last four digits drawn 24 times.
  • 7th prize: ₹1,000, last four digits drawn 54 times.
  • 8th prize: ₹500, last four digits drawn 254 times.
  • 9th prize: ₹300, last four digits drawn 342 times.
  • Consolation prize: ₹1 lakh, 5 tickets.

The 9th prize of ₹300 returns the ticket price. The BR-109 result sheet drew exactly these counts. The 2025 sheet, BR-103, paid the same amounts for the top 4 tiers.

Why does the notification say “up to” for the four-digit prizes?

Up to 540 tickets share each four-digit ending. 54 lakh tickets over 10,000 possible endings gives 540 per ending. So 30 draws for the 5th prize mean up to 16,200 prizes. The notification lists that maximum.

How is the Vishu Bumper drawn?

The Vishu Bumper is drawn on a random-technology mechanical device, before at least three judges. The 2026 notification sets out the procedure under rule 8 of the Kerala Paper Lotteries Regulation Rules, 2005.

  1. Explain the draw machine to the judges and spectators before the draw starts.
  2. Operate the machine by the judges or by members of the public.
  3. Announce each prize number in public once it is selected.
  4. Check whether the drawn number was sold. An unsold number is drawn again.
  5. Cancel a duplicate number and repeat the draw for that prize.
  6. Record each number in the prize proforma, signed by the judges.

Drums and coins replace the machine after a technical failure. The Director or an authorised officer co-opts people from the audience when fewer than three judges attend. The draw is streamed on the department’s official channels.

Which tickets won the last three Vishu Bumpers?

The last three ₹12 crore first prizes went to VC 490987, VD 204266 and VB 135452. Each was sold in a different place. The official sheets record the place of sale, never the buyer’s name.

The six BR-109 second prizes went to six places. Palakkad (VA 616453), Kanhangad (VB 327020) and Pathanamthitta (VC 348224) sold three. Guruvayoor (VD 252972), Chittur (VE 649598) and Wayanad (VG 367998) sold the rest.

How do you check a Vishu Bumper ticket?

A Vishu Bumper ticket is checked against the official sheet of its own BR code. The series letters matter for the top 4 prizes. Only the last four digits matter from the 5th prize down.

  1. Read the BR code and draw date printed on the ticket.
  2. Find the winning number for your series in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th prize lists.
  3. Compare the six digits with the first prize for the ₹1 lakh consolation prize.
  4. Match the last four digits against the 5th to 9th prize lists.
  5. Confirm any win on the LOTIS public result page or with the Bhagya Keralam app.

The checker at the end of this page takes a full number or four digits. The Bhagya Keralam app reads the QR code and confirms that the ticket is genuine.

How much of the ₹12 crore first prize reaches the winner?

About ₹7.56 crore of the ₹12 crore first prize reaches the winner, by our estimate. The agent’s commission is deducted first. Tax at 30% is then deducted at source.

Each ₹1 crore second prize leaves about ₹63 lakh by the same estimate. A ₹10 lakh third prize leaves about ₹6.30 lakh. TDS applies above ₹10,000, under Section 393(3) of the Income-tax Act 2025 (formerly Section 194B). The Kerala lottery tax calculator shows each deduction.

The ₹12 crore first prize goes to the Director of State Lotteries in Thiruvananthapuram. The ₹1 crore second prizes go to the Deputy Director. The ₹10 lakh third and ₹5 lakh fourth prizes go to a District Lottery Office. The Kerala Paper Lotteries (Regulation) Amendment Rules 2024 set these limits in Rule 9. A bank can forward the claim. Every ticket is surrendered within 90 days of the draw.

How is the Vishu Bumper different from the Pooja Bumper?

The Vishu and Pooja Bumpers share a ₹300 ticket and a ₹12 crore first prize. Their prize lists differ. The two 2026 notifications show the differences.

  • Series: 6 for Vishu (VA to VG), 5 for Pooja (JA to JE).
  • Tickets printed: 54 lakh for Vishu, 45 lakh for Pooja.
  • Second prize: ₹1 crore for 6 Vishu tickets, ₹50 lakh for 10 Pooja tickets.
  • Prize money: ₹44.96 crore for Vishu, ₹39.11 crore for Pooja.

Does the Vishu Bumper replace a weekly draw?

Yes. The 2026 Vishu draw took the Saturday Karunya slot. The official sheets go from Suvarna Keralam SK-53 to the Vishu Bumper BR-109, then Samrudhi SM-56. No Karunya draw took place that Saturday.

How do you avoid fake Vishu Bumper offers?

Fake Vishu Bumper offers are avoided by buying paper tickets from authorised Kerala sellers only. No genuine prize needs a release fee. The department has no tie-up with any website or app, the Lottery Director stated in October 2025.

Kerala Police exposed 60 fake apps, 25 fake Facebook profiles and 20 websites in August 2024. They sold fake ₹40 tickets and announced fake ₹5 lakh wins. Victims were then asked for GST or stamp duty. Kerala Police warned in July 2026 that fake sites copy the official emblem. Report such sites on helpline 1930, and see is a Kerala lottery real or fake.
