Kerala Lottery Series Letters Explained

Series letters are the two letters before the 6-digit number on a Kerala lottery ticket. The first letter names the lottery. The second letter is the series, one of 12 in a weekly draw.

What are series letters on a Kerala lottery ticket?

Series letters are a lottery letter plus a series letter, printed before the number. KF 335755 is Karunya (K), series F, number 335755. The same six digits are printed once in every series of the draw.

The series turns one 6-digit number into 12 different weekly tickets. KR-770 printed 335755 in series KA to KM. Only KF 335755 won the ₹1 crore first prize. The other 11 tickets with those digits won the consolation prize of ₹5,000.

Which first letter belongs to each Kerala lottery?

Each weekly lottery has a fixed first letter, and each bumper edition has its own. Five weekly letters match the lottery name. Karunya Plus uses P and Suvarna Keralam uses R.

Lottery Draw code First letter Latest series (draw)
Bhagyathara BT B BA to BM (BT-73)
Sthree Sakthi SS S SN to SZ (SS-539)
Dhanalekshmi DL D DA to DM (DL-71)
Karunya Plus KN P PA to PM (KN-643)
Suvarna Keralam SK R RA to RM (SK-71)
Karunya KR K KA to KM (KR-770)
Samrudhi SM M MN to MZ (SM-74)

The draw dates run from 27 September to 3 October 2026. All 7 rows come from the official result sheets.

Which first letter does each bumper use?

Each bumper uses its own first letter, shown on its official result sheet or Gazette notification. The 6 bumpers use 6 different letters.

Bumper First letter Example ticket or series
Onam (Thiruvonam) T TL 360615, BR-111 first prize
Pooja J Series JA to JE
Christmas-New Year X XC 138455, BR-107 first prize
Summer S SB 517026, BR-108 first prize
Vishu V VB 135452, BR-109 first prize
Monsoon M MC 576896, BR-110 first prize

How many series does a Kerala lottery draw have?

A weekly draw has 12 series. A bumper draw has fewer, between 5 and 10. The Gazette notification of each bumper fixes its series.

  • Monsoon Bumper BR-110: 5 series, MA to ME, per its Gazette notification.
  • Pooja Bumper: 5 series, JA to JE.
  • Vishu Bumper: 6 series.
  • Summer Bumper: 6 series.
  • Onam Bumper BR-111: 10 series, TA to TL.
  • Christmas-New Year Bumper: 10 series.

The number of series sets the number of consolation prizes. Each draw has one consolation prize per series other than the winning one. KR-770 had 11, BR-111 had 9 and BR-110 had 4.

Why do Kerala lottery series letters change every week?

The letters change because each weekly lottery alternates between two sets of 12 series. One week uses A to M. The next week uses N to Z.

Draw Date Series
KR-768 12 September 2026 KA to KM
KR-769 19 September 2026 KN to KZ
KR-770 3 October 2026 KA to KM

A Karunya ticket from KR-769 cannot be confused with one from KR-770. The letter set alone shows which week a ticket belongs to. The live Karunya pattern from the latest sheets:

  • Every Karunya ticket starts with the letter K. The second letter is the series.
  • KR-770 used 12 series: KA, KB, KC, KD, KE, KF, KG, KH, KJ, KK, KL, KM.
  • The series alternate each week: KR-769 used KN to KZ. So a ticket from one week cannot be confused with the next week’s.
  • After the two letters comes a 6-digit number: the KR-770 first-prize ticket was KF 335755. Lower prizes are won on the last 4 digits (5755).

Which letters are skipped in the weekly series?

No weekly sheet from August to October 2026 uses I or Q as a series. The A to M set skips I, which leaves 12 letters. The N to Z set skips Q, which leaves 12 letters.

Bumpers skip letters too. BR-111 used TA, TB, TC, TD, TE, TG, TH, TJ, TK and TL. Its sheet has no TF and no TI.

Why does Dhanalekshmi have a “DL” series?

DL is both the draw code and one series of Dhanalekshmi. DL-71 printed 12 series from DA to DM, and DL is the eleventh. A ticket reading DL 123456 belongs to series L of a Dhanalekshmi draw.

What does “common to all series” mean?

The phrase means one prize drawn from the tickets of every series together. The Monsoon Bumper Gazette notification uses it for the first prize. Its 2nd, 3rd and 4th prizes are “one prize in each series”.

Phrase in the notification Meaning BR-110 example
Common to all series 1 winner across every series 1st prize: ₹10 crore, 1 prize
One prize in each series 1 winner inside each series 2nd prize: ₹10 lakh, 5 prizes
Last four digits drawn Every series, ending only 5th prize: ₹5,000, drawn 30 times

How does the series letter affect a Kerala lottery prize?

The series letter decides the top prizes but not the ending prizes. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes of a weekly draw need the exact letters and digits. The 4th to 9th prizes match the last 4 digits in every series.

  • 1st prize: one ticket, letters and digits exact.
  • Consolation: same digits in each other series.
  • 2nd and 3rd prizes: one ticket each in a weekly draw, letters and digits exact.
  • 4th to 9th prizes: last 4 digits, any series.

Why do two lotteries share a first letter?

Two lotteries share a first letter because 13 lotteries use only 11 first letters. The draw code on the ticket keeps them apart. Each ticket wins only in its own draw.

  • S: Sthree Sakthi tickets and Summer Bumper tickets.
  • M: Samrudhi tickets and Monsoon Bumper tickets.

Samrudhi SM-73 used series MA to MM, MC included. The Monsoon Bumper BR-110 first prize was MC 576896. A Samrudhi ticket MC 576896 wins nothing from BR-110. Check the draw code before the letters.

How do Karunya series letters work?

Karunya tickets start with K and alternate between KA to KM and KN to KZ. Karunya is drawn every Saturday. Karunya Plus, drawn on Thursday, uses P instead.

The KR-770 first prize went to KF 335755, sold in Cherthala. The 11 consolation prizes went to the same digits in the other KA to KM series. The full list of every Saturday draw is on the Karunya lottery result page.
