Unclaimed Kerala Lottery Prizes
An unclaimed Kerala lottery prize is not paid, and its money becomes the property of the Government. The claim window is 90 days from the draw. This page explains the deadline, where the money goes and why older sources quote 30 days.
What happens to an unclaimed Kerala lottery prize?
An unclaimed prize is not disbursed, and the prize money becomes the property of the Government. Rule 9(10) of the Kerala Paper Lotteries (Regulation) Rules 2005 sets this. The ticket loses its value once the claim period ends.
The rule covers prizes and prize money alike. A ₹100 ending prize and a ₹1 crore first prize follow the same rule.
How long can a Kerala lottery prize stay unclaimed?
A prize stays claimable for 90 days from the draw date. Every official result sheet prints this limit. The Directorate of State Lotteries repeats it on its prize claim page.
| Draw | Draw date | Last claim date |
|---|---|---|
| Onam Bumper BR-111 | 26 September 2026 | 25 December 2026 |
| Samrudhi SM-74 | 27 September 2026 | 26 December 2026 |
| Sthree Sakthi SS-539 | 29 September 2026 | 28 December 2026 |
| Karunya Plus KN-643 | 1 October 2026 | 30 December 2026 |
| Karunya KR-770 | 3 October 2026 | 1 January 2027 |
| Pooja Bumper BR-112 | 28 November 2026 | 26 February 2027 |
The count starts on the draw date, not on the date you check the result. Each draw page on this site shows its own last claim date.
Does the deadline differ for small and large prizes?
The 90-day limit applies to every prize tier. The KR-770 sheet prints one instruction for all winners. It tells them to surrender the winning tickets within 90 days.
Where does unclaimed Kerala lottery prize money go?
Unclaimed prize money stays with the Government of Kerala. Rule 9 makes it Government property. Lottery funds go to the State Exchequer, according to the Monsoon Bumper Gazette notification.
The Monsoon Bumper notification of 2026 states the purpose of the lottery. It names 3 aims: revenue for social welfare and development, employment for weaker sections, and control of illegal lotteries. The Karunya Benevolent Fund was set up with lottery revenue and is now run by the State Health Agency.
No official source we checked publishes a yearly total of unclaimed prizes. This page gives no figure until one is published.
Why do some sources say 30 days to claim?
Some sources quote 30 days because the older text of Rule 9 says 30 days. The current official sheets and the Directorate’s prize claim page state 90 days. The 90-day limit is the one printed today.
The Rule 9 text published on Indian Kanoon sets 30 days from the draw. It lets the Director allow claims up to 90 days for sufficient, recorded reasons. It lets the District Lottery Officer, Deputy Director and Director condone delays of 30, 45 and 60 days.
Competing pages still repeat the 30-day figure. The official KR-770 sheet of 3 October 2026 states 90 days. Follow the sheet of your own draw.
Can you appeal an unclaimed or rejected Kerala lottery claim?
Appeals go to the Director up to ₹20 lakh and to the Government above. The 2005 text of Rule 9(10) names these final authorities.
| Prize amount | Final appeal authority (2005 text) |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹20 lakh | Director of State Lotteries |
| Above ₹20 lakh | Government of Kerala |
How do you avoid losing a Kerala lottery prize to the deadline?
You avoid it by checking every ticket soon after its draw and claiming within the first weeks. Ending prizes pay on the last 4 digits in every series of the draw.
- Check each ticket against its own draw, including the 4-digit endings.
- Sign the back of a winning ticket at once, with your name as on Aadhaar.
- Note the last claim date: 90 days from the draw.
- Collect the documents early, including Aadhaar linked to PAN.
- Surrender the ticket at an agent, a lottery office or through a bank.
KR-770 paid 144 ending numbers at ₹100 and 92 at ₹200. Each ending wins on every ticket of the draw that shares those 4 digits.
The office for each prize amount is listed in how to claim a Kerala lottery prize.
